Everything parents and guardians need to know about enrolling a learner at Alberton Stars Private School — our values, the application process, required documentation, and age requirements.

Section 1

Our Values &
Language of Instruction

  • By enrolling at Alberton Stars Private School, parents and learners indicate their acceptance of our vision, mission, and values.
  • Our school educates learners in Christian beliefs according to the Word of God.
  • The language of instruction at Alberton Stars Private School is English. Learners admitted to the school will need to be sufficiently proficient in English so that their academic performance is not impeded.
  • Learners are enrolled on condition that they comply with the age restrictions set out in this policy (see table below).
Section 2

The Role of the Parent
During Admission

  • The parent has the responsibility to provide the school with true, correct information during the enrolment process and not to withhold any relevant information.
  • The parent has to ensure that the learner attends school regularly, has the correct school uniform and stationery, and is wholeheartedly supported in their learning process.
  • Parents are responsible for ensuring that school fees are paid punctually.
  • Parents/guardians will be expected to sign the School Agreement as well as a Debtor Policy on the date of registration.

Application for
Admission

A registration fee is payable (for old and new learners) at the beginning of each year. Follow these steps to apply:

Collect Application Documentation
Visit our school’s Reception to collect the official application documentation pack.

Complete the Application
Complete the application forms in full and gather all other required items (see the Required Documentation section below).

Submit Before the Deadline
Deliver the fully completed application to the school office.
Deadline: 31 October

Application Review
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please ensure every section of the form and all supporting documents are included before submission.
Section 4

Conditions for
Registration

Learners will only be admitted to Alberton Stars Private School when the following conditions are met:

  • They adhere to the values (ethos) of the school.
  • All relevant documentation has been completed.
  • The learner is of the appropriate age for the grade in which he/she has been enrolled.
  • The learner does not have specific barriers to learning for which the school cannot provide adequate support.
  • The learner is proficient in English.

Required
Documentation

Please ensure the following documents are submitted with the application form.

  • Birth certificate
  • 1 colour ID-size photo (attached to application form)
  • Transfer card / letter from the previous school
  • Most recent report card
👨‍👩‍👧Parent / Guardian Documents
  • Copy of ID of both parents/guardians
  • Proof of residence (not older than 1 month)
  • Proof of income
Section 6

Foreign National
Requirements

Please take note that no current or new learner will be enrolled without the following documentation in place.

Foreign Student
  • A valid passport and birth certificate
  • Valid passport / refugee permit / asylum permit
  • Study permit
Foreign Parents / Guardians
  • Working visa
  • Temporary or permanent residence permit from the Department of Home Affairs for parents and learners

Age Restrictions
by Grade

Ages are determined as of 30 June in the year of enrolment, in line with Department of Education guidelines.
